Hello;
 
Never been to the New York Library Association School Library Media Section (NYLA/SLMS) annual conference?
Wanted to go but didn't have funding?
 
The annual NYLA/SLMS conference is one of the best, most intensive and rewarding opportunities for professional development, networking with peers and school library leaders, and meeting authors and library vendors, to be found anywhere.
 
DCMO SLS is proud to announce a scholarship program to send at least two applicants to the Tarrytown, NY conference this year, May i, 2, and 3. Please see our new application form and evaluation rubric at:

This is a competitive program, with successful applicants to be determined by the SLS Council members at the February meeting. The February 25 deadline for completing the application is a very firm deadline. Don't delay coordinating your application with your administration, if you plan to apply.

If there is extra SLS system funding due to our special legislative 1 time increase this fiscal year, I am strongly encouraging the Council, SLS staff, DCMO ISS Director, and the new SLS coordinator to spend the funds providing these scholarships.
 
So don't despair. Review the rubric and start planning to apply today!
