Hello;

Going to the NYLA Website and following the links to send your elected officials a FAX in support of Library Aid legislation is the most effective 3 to 5 minutes you can spend advocating for your library's funding. Now is the time. NYLA has set up excellent systems to aid your advocacy effort. Please take a few moments to lend them your support.
Contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thanks.

Dear Library Advocate,

The State Budget process is winding down and the Legislature is expected to vote on the Budget over the weekend. Joint Budget Conference Committees are meeting to resolve differences between the Assembly's and Senate's Budget proposals. As reported previously, the Senate is proposing a $5 million increase in Library Aid and making the 2006/2007 increases permanent. The Assembly is proposing a $3 million increase.

NOW IS THE TIME ! to contact your state legislators and urge them to resolve their differences and continue to invest in our libraries and library systems as well as make permanent the increases. Go to www.nyla.org and click on Contact Your Elected Officials to send a fax (new letter) to your state legislator or call your state legislator in their Albany office, links to Legislature can be found here http://www.nyla.org/index.php?page_id=514

THE LIBRARY COMMUNITY NEEDS TO ACT NOW! to prevent a Library Aid increase from falling off the negotiating table.
