[Dcmosls] CCCD Grant program, Deadline October 15

I am very pleased to announce our Cooperative Collection Development Program grant this year.
Up to four schools will be awarded grants of $500.00 each to purchase material that will increase existing collection strengths and/or benefit a specific population and develop strengths that support curriculum and the New York State Learning Standards.  All items purchased must be made available for interlibrary loan.  Only one grant will be awarded in a district.  Please meet with the other school library media specialists in your district, if necessary, to decide who will apply for the grant this year.
 
Preference will be given to those applicants requesting funds for materials that are unique to DCMO school libraries. I have enclosed the grant program information sheet, the cover sheet that must accompany the application, the application information, and the evaluation rubric. 
 
If you are interested in applying for these funds, please complete the enclosed application and return to the School Library System office no later than October 15, 2007.  Winners will be notified by November 15, 2007.  
 
The due date is essential to allow the SLS Council to decide recipients of the grants at the November 7 meeting. 
You do not need to be a current subscriber in CCCD to apply.
