Good morning,

Many of you have either received or will soon be getting a copy of Librarians as Learning Specialists, Zmuda & Harada. These are coming your way as a result of my attendance at Allison's presentation in Binghamton in January. Please consider her work to be of the utmost importance to your job specifically and the field of librarianship in general.

As I approach the writing of our LSTA grant this week much of the PD will focus on the issues of the 21st century, defining the "invaluable" librarian and looking to the future of our field. Our professional field is being called into question on a daily basis as districts eliminate positions and seek to justify every body in their buildings.

I will start up a “Librarians as Learning Specialists” blog that you can post to at anytime over the next 18 months or so. So much that we do is important for students. Take some time to do something extremely important for yourself as well.

Cheers,

Chuck
