Good morning,

I need some help in getting this prompt to your social studies teachers: 4th, 7th, 8th and 11th grade levels. Also, if you have any other individuals in your school that teach American History they should be included as well. In addition, if you ever assist in providing materials, co-teaching or provide general support to teachers teaching American History—please do the survey as well.

Over a month ago, I met with all of the DCMO superintendents to let them know that we (SLS and NYSHA) are interested in pursuing a Teaching American History grant. The grant would provide professional development funding over a 3-4 year period for any / all teachers, (including librarians) of American History. All superintendents committed their districts to the project and for support in release time, etc. The survey was to be completed by January 8th.

The brief; nine question pre-survey responses will inform the writing of the grant. To date only 5 surveys have been completed. If you could print out the survey link, this email, or provide a hand-written note prompting them to respond it would be greatly appreciated. We all are extremely busy but the survey should only take approximately 3 minutes to complete. Help!

The following link will take you to the survey:

Please let me know if you can help out with this and will encourage your social studies staff to respond. Survey responses will be equally valued from elementary, MS / HS teachers and librarians.

Thank you,

Chuck
