Target Foundation funds enhance classroom curriculum

DEADLINE: April 30. The 2010 Target Store Grant program, a giving effort of the retail chain's foundation, will focus funding on childhood literacy and arts and culture grants of $2,000 each. Applicants will be notified by Sept.1

The Early Childhood Reading category funds programs that foster a love of reading and encourage young children (preK-3) to read together with their families.

The Arts and Culture in Schools category funds in-school arts programs that enhance students' classroom curriculum by bringing in arts and cultural experiences. This includes in-school performances, artist-in-residency programs and workshops.

ELIGIBILITY: Schools, libraries, public agencies and nonprofits.
